I’m so upset that Christmas is over so I decided to cheer myself up by making some Christmassy homemade gingerbread!
To start off I measured out the ‘wet’ ingredients of golden syrup, butter and muscavado sugar in a pan and gently heated them until the butter and sugar had dissolved. Then I measured out the ‘dry’ ingredients of ground ginger, bicarbonate of soda and plain flour.
Then, I quickly poured the ‘wet’ ingredients into the ‘dry’ ingredients and stirred them together with a wooden spoon before rolling the mixture out on greaseproof paper and scoring the mixture with a knife to create shapes. I personally always cut rectangles so if I want to i can build something such as a gingerbread house.
I then put the tray into the oven at 200•c for 12 minutes before braking the individual pieces apart and then I had a lovely plate of gingerbread!
