Ed Sheeran’s new songs

If you haven’t heard Ed Sheeran’s two new songs by now where have you been?!?

He released two new songs at once which is relatively unusual as usually this means the attention between the song is halved but in this case I think it does the opposite; Ed Sheeran’s hasn’t released a song in ages so two at once is heaven for his fans (which I am!)

Shape of you is an upbeat pop song cowritten with Johnny Mcdaid and Steve Mac and quite fast paced but a little different to his usually stuff.

My favourite though, is castle on the hill, by a long way! It is a meaningful song reminiscent of childhood memories and days gone past with an opening line of ‘when I was six years old, I broke my leg’. It starts of quite slow and builds up to a powerful soulful chorus that anyone can relate to whether they grew up in the country or not. I personally love the live version as it’s just a tad slower and less busy making it all the more beautiful and meaningful. The lyrics video and BBC version are #1 and #2 trending on youtube!

If you have a moment, please, listen to these songs.

Anyway, fan girl moment over and thank you for reading! xx

Not really a Sheeran fan myself, but my wife loves him, so I hear his songs a lot!
He is very popular in East Anglia where we live, as he was brought up in Suffolk, so always on the local news. He comes across as a nice guy, that’s for sure.
    Best wishes, Pete.
